All of this came out of the blue. Maybe he “saw” that Padilla was “keel-hauled” and then sent to a concentration camp or something similar. Like most leftists, he lives in an alternate reality. He once told me not to tell him “facts.” He didn’t want to hear actual facts; he was fine living in a different reality. “His truth,” I guess.
About the same time I was being skinned by a nutty relative, I saw California attorney Laura Powell lamenting that the Communications Director for Gavin Newsom was happily acting like a 3-year-old on X.
That guy is named Izzy Gardon. In high school, he self-reports, his big accomplishment was demanding that students be allowed to use cell phones. As a graduate of Seattle University, he had some part in something called “The Black Journal” — the cover of which reads: “Go Forth and set the World on Fire.” I’m guessing it was meant metaphorically. Or, maybe not.
Izzy runs Communications for Governor Newsom. His X banner reads:
“A gay guy whose job it is to defend Gavin Newsom.”
His posts are a collection of rants, missives, and nasty personal invectives, or reposts of rants, missives, and personal invectives. Yeah, he’s the comms director for Gavin Newsom. He’s a pedantic, rude, gaslighting man-child, and I am paying his salary.

And, being the comms director for the governor of California, he’s undoubtedly responsible for Gavin’s nastygrams as well.

Remember when the reframe from Dems was that they were the party of serious policy? They were the party of grown-ups. “The Adults are Back in Charge.”
Izzy is the comms director for the governor of the most populous state in the Union. Izzy’s responsible for comms for (arguably) the guy who desperately wants to be president. And California’s comms are run by a man-child.
