SUPER Bowl LIX MVP Jalen Hurts will skip the Philadelphia Eagles’ White House visit with President Donald Trump, citing scheduling conflicts, according to reports.
Hurts’ reported absence comes after he refused to confirm his attendance when asked by a Time Magazine reporter at Thursday evening’s Time 100 Gala in New York City.
When asked by a Time reporter if he would visit the White House on Monday, Hurts stood silently and refused to give a clear answer saying, “Ummm.”
The Super Bowl-winning Eagles‘ celebratory ceremony at the White House with Trump is scheduled to start at 4 pm on the South Lawn.
Although it is unclear what players will attend the ceremony, the White House confirmed to NBC News that Hurst, 26, will not be present.
“The White House says Hurts and other players who can’t attend had ‘scheduling conflicts,'” the outlet reported hours before the event was scheduled to begin.
