In a bold statement during his Wednesday night show, ABC’s late-night host Jimmy Kimmel aligned himself with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey, echoing the mayor’s sentiment for Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents to leave Minneapolis and similar urban areas. Kimmel’s remarks, “To ICE, get the fuck out of Minneapolis. Get the fuck out of all these cities,” were met with enthusiastic applause from his studio audience. The moment was punctuated by Kimmel holding up a t-shirt emblazoned with the same message.
Kimmel’s commentary came in response to a tragic incident involving Renee Nicole Good, a 37-year-old woman who was fatally shot by an ICE agent after driving her car into him. This incident took place in a Minneapolis neighborhood, adding fuel to the ongoing debate surrounding immigration enforcement practices. Renee Good, a U.S. citizen and mother to a six-year-old son, was part of a protest group attempting to block federal agents from detaining individuals described by the Department of Homeland Security as dangerous illegal migrants.
Mayor Jacob Frey intensified the situation by vocally demanding that ICE agents leave the city, a stance that mirrored the growing frustration among many residents and activists. His call to action was clear: “Get the fuck out,” he urged, addressing the federal agency directly.
In the aftermath of Good’s death, President Donald Trump released a statement, which prompted Kimmel to criticize the President’s response while omitting the detail that Good had struck the ICE agent with her car before being shot. This omission sparked further debate and highlighted the complex narratives surrounding immigration enforcement and public safety.

President Donald Trump issued a similar statement responding to Good’s death, to which Kimmel lambasted and failed to inform his audience that Good actually hit the ICE agent with her car before she was shot.
“Now, I saw this video. It didn’t look anybody got run over to me,” Kimmel told the audience. “It looked to me like a woman got scared, tried to drive away, and they shot her. That’ll be for the court to decide.”
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem said Wednesday an Immigration and Customs Enforcement officer shot Good, who was “stalking and impeding” agents all day.
The number of DHS and ICE agents in Minneapolis had been surging for weeks, as part of President Trump’s ever-expanding crackdown criminal illegal migrants.
