Jonathan Blake’s New Job: Jonathan Quits BBC News
The host began her career as a US correspondent for Radio 1’s Newsbeat current affairs program.
He worked as a World Service broadcaster for seven months before being hired as a political journalist in March 2018.
On Friday, Jonathan posted on Twitter: “Some news from me… It’s time for a change and a fresh challenge after 16 years at the BBC and 20 years as a journalist.
Though it will be difficult to say goodbye to so many wonderful friends and coworkers, I am beyond excited to shortly join the amazing team at @HeadlandComms.
After political correspondent Jonathan Blake announced he was leaving the Corporation, Naga Munchetty, 47, gave him a heartfelt farewell and congratulated her.
Naga congratulated her colleague and wrote: “Well done! At least we got to talk to you this morning on @BBCBreakfast before you leave. x”
Jonathan thanked Naga for the tweet in his response. Yes, it’s still not finished:)”
Jacqui Oatley, a football analyst for the BBC, joined Naga in applauding the journalist.
Big loss for BBC, she tweeted. You did a fantastic job. Good luck with your upcoming chapter.
A great loss for us, JB, remarked Martine Croxall, a fellow presenter. “Good luck!”
Rich Preston, the host, added, “I’m really sorry Jonathan, we’re losing you! Our loss is enormous. You’ve always produced really insightful reports.
I’ve always valued having you as a coworker and wish you the best on your upcoming journey.
Rajini Vaidyanathan, a reporter, continued, “Wow Blakey! Major news! Large loss.
“While everyone here is correctly praising your great stint at MB as a network political correspondent, I’ll also remember you as the golden-voiced announcer at Yalding, as a tech reporter in New York, and of course, as the Radio 1 political editor at the BBC. Good luck! x”.
