He is battling terminal cancer after being diagnosed in 2020 and has remained positive and uplifted throughout his journey.
He was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, that has spread from his lungs to his brain.
He has three children- Rex, three, and twins Rafa and Cormac, two of whom he shares with his wife Jessica Holmes.
On Monday, Jonnie Irwin shared an emotional Instagram post in which he said that he had driven his son to the nursery for the “last time ever.”
Jonnie was seen cycling about with Rex on their final trip to the nursery in the picture.
Rafa, his kid, made a cameo in the adorable photo to support Rex on his final day before starting primary school.

As he shared a health update with his followers on Instagram last month, Jonnie recently disclosed that he is significantly weaker.
“Jonnie, you really inspire me.”
The television star was diagnosed with lung cancer in 2020, and it has since moved to his brain. He is valiantly fighting the terrible illness.
Earlier this month, Jonnie spoke on BBC Morning Live to update his audience on his health and discuss the value of palliative care.
Jonnie previously acknowledged that the anguish might become so excruciating that he seeks relief in a hospice because he cannot bear to witness his loved ones suffer.
‘I remove myself on a number of occasions because I’m not good to be around when I’m in pain,’ he said in a statement to Hello! magazine.
“I don’t want them to be around that. I’m like a bear with a sore head.”
The father of three continued, “It can happen at any time,” in reference to his passing. I’m here to put a stop to it for as long as I can.
The speaker also talked about his choice to keep his children in the dark about his cancer treatment.
‘I keep getting asked, ‘Are you going to tell them?’ but what? He stated, “It would be terrible news that they would have to comprehend.
‘And it would confuse the hell out of Rex – he’s got a shocking enough day coming. Let’s bury our heads in the sand for as long as possible.’
