Karolaine Vieira Palermo: Pregnant Woman Killed On Her Way To Give Birth
Expectant mother died in horrific vehicle crash while traveling to maternity ward to give birth
The woman lost her third kid in the crash after suffering two miscarriages previously.
On Wednesday, November 8, in Caceres, Brazil, physical education instructor Karolaine Vieira Palermo, 26, and her unborn child died in the accident.
Local media reported that Karolaine’s Onix car lost control in the bad weather condition and collided with another vehicle.
According to reports, the driver entered the wrong lane and struck the other vehicle.
According to local media, the Onix then broke in half, and part of it and a passenger flying off the road.
Ivonete Vieira Palermo, 49, Karolaine’s mother, was also in the vehicle and she died at the scene.
After being admitted to the hospital, Karolaine lost the baby and passed away a few hours later.
Her spouse was in the car with them and had fractures and mild head damage.
According to reports from the area, he is still hospitalized.
“We are destroyed, everyone said goodbye hoping they would come back with one more for our family – three ended up leaving,” Maria Julia Palermo, Karolaine’s cousin, said to the local media.
“This child was very loved.”
Maria revealed that Karolaine suffered from thrombophilia, a condition that complicates pregnancy and raises the danger of blood clots.
She continued, “Being a mother was her dream.”
She suffered two miscarriages prior to Theo, but she was able to maintain this pregnancy, despite being diagnosed with thrombophilia
“The pregnancy was very difficult, that’s why she took the risk by going to Cuiaba.”
