KC Osborne has spoken publicly for the first time about her secret Hollywood romance with One Direction star Niall Horan, revealing how an unexpected dinner invitation turned into a handful of discreet dates.
The former Married At First Sight contestant, now 36, first confirmed in 2020 that she had dated the Irish singer after fans noticed he was following her on Instagram.
Until now, however, Osborne had remained tight-lipped about how the unlikely relationship began.
During an exclusive appearance on Daily Mail’s The Debrief with Savanna Young podcast, the reality star detailed their first meeting and described the unexpected phone call from Horan that left her stunned.
Osborne was living in Los Angeles at the time and had crossed paths with several Hollywood celebrities. She said their meeting took place in the early 2010s, after One Direction’s manager invited her to dinner at the famous Sunset Marquis in West Hollywood.
When she arrived, she discovered that Horan was already waiting for her.

“I went in and Niall was sitting there and I just played it cool, even though I loved 1D,” she recalled.
The pair enjoyed dinner together and quickly hit it off, with Osborne describing the pop star as “super sweet.”
As the evening ended, Horan asked for her phone number. Determined not to appear too eager, Osborne told him he could get it from her manager instead.
Even after their promising evening, Osborne assumed the singer would not contact her again.
“I kept thinking, ‘Whatever, he’s not gonna message or call me.’ And then the next day, or it was that night, I had this UK number FaceTiming me, and I’m like, ‘Surely not, surely not,’” she said.
When she answered, she realised it really was Horan on the other end of the call.
The former Married At First Sight bride confirmed in 2020 that she had dated the Irish pop star after fans spotted him following her on Instagram.
The two began dating soon afterwards, managing to keep their meetings out of the public eye despite Horan being one of the biggest young stars in the world at the time.
“I kept that s**t so private. No one knew,” Osborne said.

The romance was brief, though, and Osborne acknowledged that the connection never developed into a serious relationship.
“We went on like two or three dates and then it just wasn’t there,” she revealed.
With Horan touring and his career gaining momentum, Osborne said she never expected the relationship to become something lasting. Still, she looks back on the experience fondly: “But I had fun.”
‘It was just a friendly, fun thing.’
And Niall wasn’t KC’s only brush with the One Direction phenomenon during her years in Hollywood.
The former reality star revealed she continued to cross paths with other members of the chart-topping boyband and even found herself inside a recording studio with the late Liam Payne, singing on one of his unreleased tracks.

KC continued to cross paths with other members of the chart-topping boyband and even found herself inside a recording studio with the late Liam Payne
KC said the extraordinary encounter happened while One Direction were still together, although she claimed tensions surrounding the band’s future were already apparent.
‘One night, we ended up at the studio. This was when they were still together… but you could tell they were going to break up,’ she recalled.
‘Liam was like, “I’m in the studio because I want a female vocalist to come in and get on my track and do some harmonies.”‘
KC protested that she was ‘not a good singer’, but said Liam quickly assured her it didn’t matter.
She ultimately stepped inside the booth and recorded harmonies for the track, which was never released.
‘It was a cool experience,’ she said.
‘I just remember thinking, “I can’t believe a girl from the Sutherland Shire is in the booth with someone from One Direction singing.”‘
It was one of several brushes with celebrities KC experienced during her time in Los Angeles, where she also dined with Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez.
