Israel medics say injured toll from strike on nuclear town rises to 39
In the town of Dimona, which houses a significant nuclear facility, at least 39 individuals were reported injured by shrapnel, according to Israeli medical officials. This incident followed alerts about incoming missiles from Iran.
Among those injured were a 10-year-old boy and a 40-year-old woman. Both were reported to be in moderate condition, underscoring the severity of the situation.
In response to the attack, Israeli police shared images depicting officers inside a building with a large hole blown through its wall, illustrating the extent of the damage.
Dimona, located in southern Israel, is known for its facility that is widely believed to hold the Middle East’s only, albeit undeclared, nuclear arsenal. Despite this belief, Israel has consistently adhered to a policy of ambiguity regarding its nuclear capabilities, with the Dimona plant officially designated for research purposes.
