A MISSING Chicago man has sparked a frantic search across the city after he disappeared over the weekend.
Kevin Spencer, 34, didn’t show up to work on Monday – which immediately raised alarm bells from his coworkers.
Spencer’s colleagues said it wasn’t like him to miss a shift.
He works at the information technology department at Chicago’s NBC affiliate WMAQ-TV.
The IT worker was last seen at work on Friday.
However, cops said the missing man was last contacted on Saturday.
Spencer was last located in the Lakeview neighborhood of Chicago.
Cops searched Spencer’s apartment during a welfare check, but the missing man was nowhere to be found.
His family said they missed a call from him on Saturday.
Now, his phone is going straight to voicemail.
His sister, Jennifer Brinkley, said she last spoke to her older brother on January 20.
“We talked for about an hour on the phone and the conversation went real well,” Brinkley told WMAQ-TV.
“We basically just talked about my laptop, getting photos off of that, but we just talked about day-to-day life and, you know, about how he’s pursuing school constantly.
“And it was just normal conversation about Kevin continuously pursuing his career,” Brinkley said.
Brinkley added that Spencer’s electric scooter was found at his home.
He typically travels around Chicago via electric scooter or public transportation.
“I believe they said that he didn’t even call in for work and to let them know that he was not going to be there,” Brinkley continued.
“And that’s just not like my brother whatsoever.
“My brother would have definitely let the company know if he was sick or if he was unable to attend.”
Because Spencer’s phone is going to voicemail, Brinkley said she’s tried to contact her brother through other methods.
“I’ve tried Facebook messenger. I tried a lot of things,” she told the outlet.
“I’ve reached out to the police department. And so I’m just really figuring out what my next steps need to be to keep this process going because something is definitely wrong.”
Chicago police haven’t responded to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.
Spencer’s coworkers are sharing desperate calls to the public on social media to keep their eyes out for the Chicago resident.
“Our NBC Chicago colleague, Kevin Spencer is missing. He’s a valued member of our IT department,” one coworker wrote on Facebook.
“He was last heard from on Saturday. If you have any information, please contact Chicago Police.”
Another wrote, “Friends in the Chicagoland area – please help us find our NBC colleague, Kevin Spencer, by sharing this link.
“He was last seen Saturday and it’s extremely unlike him to not show for work.”
Spencer stands at 5’11” with brown hair and blue eyes.
He has a carpe diem tattoo on his neck.
