ALLEGED “killer” Sam Haskell has appeared bare-chested in a bizarre Los Angeles court appearance.
The 35-year-old son of a Hollywood super-agent, who has been accused of killing his wife and her parents, begged the judge for more time to decide his plea.
A court deputy told the Daily Mail after Friday’s hearing that Haskell was not supposed to appear in the LA Superior Court half-naked.
However, the heavily tattooed man accidentally bared his chest as the Velcro straps on his special gown that he was wearing had become loose.
He has reportedly been on suicide watch in the LAPD’s Valley Jail in Van Nuys. Haskell was remanded in jail without bail.
In November, the Los Angeles man was charged with murder for allegedly killing his wife and her parents, then stuffing dismembered body parts into a trash bag, prosecutors announced.
“REMAINS IN DUMPSTER”
The remains, believed to be those of 37-year-old Mei Li, were found in a dumpster in Encino, California, around 16 miles northwest of Los Angeles.
Her husband Sam Haskell, the son of a leading Hollywood agent, has been charged with the murders of his wife and her parents, Yanxiang Wang and Gaoshan Li.
On Friday, his attorney asked the court for more time to enter a plea.
Haskell was scheduled today for an arraignment, and to enter a guilty or not guilty plea on the three murder charges he is facing.
LA Superior Court Judge Kimberley Baker Guillemet continued his arraignment and plea until January 12, following the request of Haskell’s new attorney, Joseph Weimortz.
Given that he has only recently been hired, Weimortz explained to the court that he needed time to fully understand the case.
However, Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman objected to the request.
She told the court: “We’re opposed to putting this over for another six weeks.”
TRASH BAGS
He could face life in prison without the chance of parole if convicted, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office said in a statement last month.
Haskell had been living in the Tarzana neighborhood of the San Fernando Valley with his wife, their three young children and her parents.

His wife and her parents were last seen on or about November 6, the DA’s office statement said.
It added: “On November 7, Haskell allegedly hired four day-laborers to take away several heavy black plastic trash bags from his home in Tarzana.
“One of the laborers opened one of the bags and allegedly observed human body parts.
“They called 911 and reported the incident.”
They returned the bags and money, but the bags were not there when the cops arrived, authorities have said.
That same day, Haskell was filmed on video dumping something in a dumpster in nearby Encino, authorities alleged.
“DISMEMBERED”
He was arrested the next day after someone rummaging through trash in that dumpster found a woman’s torso in a trash bag and called 911, prosecutors said.
The Los Angeles Police Department launched a probe into whether laborers who were reportedly paid $500 to dump body parts for Haskell were turned away from a police station and ordered to call 911 instead.
The Spanish-speaking laborers claim Haskell had tried to trick them into removing the sacks of remains from his Tarzana home on November 7, telling them they were full of rocks and trash.
One of the laborers, who spoke to the media on the condition of remaining anonymous, told NBC Los Angeles: “When we picked up the bags, we could tell they weren’t rocks.”
Deputy District Attorney Beth Silverman said last month: “We suspect that the torso… is the body of Mei Haskell.”
Silverman added at the time. “No other bags containing body parts or remains have been recovered to date but I don’t need a body to charge a murder.
“There were items of evidence in the house that indicated he dismembered the bodies.”
The case continues.
KIDS SAFE
The children were located and are being cared for by relatives, cops said.
The Associated Press reported that multiple media outlets have identified Haskell as the son and namesake of a former executive at a prominent Hollywood talent agency.
He is the son of Emmy-winning producer and Hollywood agent Sam Haskell, who has represented Kathie Lee Gifford, Whoopi Goldberg, Dolly Parton, George Clooney, and others.
Li was the only child of her parents.
