Lady Gaga is speaking out in support of the transgender community, saying onstage at the Grammy Awards that “trans people are not invisible.”

“Trans people deserve love,” the 38-year-old singer said on Sunday at the 67th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles, after winning the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance with Bruno Mars for their song, “Die With a Smile.”

“The trans community deserves to be lifted up,” Lady Gaga, who was born Stefani Germanotta, said to applause.

“Music is love,” she added.

The performer and longtime LGBTQ advocate’s remarks came after President Trump signed an executive order last week to restrict access to gender-affirming care for transgender children and teenagers younger than 19.

The president also signed an executive order last week barring transgender people from serving openly in the military.

While she didn’t name Trump during her Grammys acceptance speech, Lady Gaga mentioned his White House win in an interview published this week.

Saying she “prayed” Trump wouldn’t win a second term, the entertainer told Elle UK, “This just reminds me that we need each other and supporting each other is important. I am one of many people that supports [the LGBTQ and other marginalized] communities. And we’re not going down without a fight.”
