Luis Cevallos Car Accident
Despite being cautioned about their irresponsible driving, two young adults on a first date died in a high-speed crash following a traffic stop that turned tragic. The officer told the couple, Luis Fernando Cevallos, 24, and Alexis Rodriguez, 27, “I’m stopping you for reckless driving, careless driving, speeding, and the light you ran, okay?” He noted that they reached “at least 100” miles per hour during the incident. Rodriguez briefly recounted the events leading up to their dubious driving after returning the papers. She informed the officer that they were on their first date and that they were going home.
It’s hardly appropriate to start a first date by nearly murdering each other, he retorted. Cevallos received three tickets from him, which he claimed could have been much higher. Get home safely, he said. Sadly, it seems the recently-minuted couple disregarded his advice. At 2:13 a.m., about 15 minutes later, their car collided with a tractor-trailer. The collision, which severed the top half of the car, claimed the lives of the two people. At the scene, they were declared dead. The officer, who was obviously terrified, can be heard screaming, “Yo this is the same kid, oh my gosh, oh my gosh,” before requesting a “crash team.”
Around 2:40 p.m., the Border Patrol spotted Saldana Rocha’s automobile and began pursuing him near Pine Valley. The Border Patrol is heavily present in the rural, scarcely inhabited area, with a checkpoint on the westbound I-8 and the agency’s Campo station close by. Saldana Rocha was being pursued after Border Patrol authorities checked his license plate and attempted to pull him over for unspecified reasons. However, he refused to stop. An agent at the checkpoint used a spike strip, a tool designed to deflate a fleeing suspect’s car’s tires, but claimed it missed the Infiniti. Stay tuned with us for the latest news.
