A tragic incident unfolded at Fairlane Town Center in Dearborn, Michigan, early Friday afternoon, resulting in the shooting of three individuals, two of whom succumbed to their injuries.
The local news outlet ClickOnDetroit detailed that gunfire erupted around 1:25 p.m.
People magazine has revealed that authorities suggested the shooting originated from a clash between two groups, dismissing it as an isolated act of violence. CBS News further reported that each group had brought firearms to the shopping complex.
Among those shot, one victim died at the scene while another passed away following hospitalization. The third individual injured in the incident is currently undergoing medical care.
Dearborn Police Chief Issa Shahin expressed strong disapproval regarding the occurrence, stating, “This situation is utterly unacceptable. It should not happen anywhere, let alone in a public venue such as a mall, where people come to shop. It’s just incomprehensible.”
