Spanish side Mallorca are interested in Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze.
Chukwueze is among the players AC Milan are open to selling, as he isn’t really part of Massimiliano Allegri’s plans.
Mallorca is interested in recruiting Chukwueze because they believe he is a talented player who can enhance their attacking prowess, especially since they have limited options for wing positions.
The club finished 10th last season, scoring just 35 goals in 38 matches—one of the lowest tallies in La Liga.
Their solid defensive setup kept them competitive, but their struggles in front of goal ultimately cost them a chance at European qualification.
Mallorca believe that signing the 26-year-old could boost their chances of reaching European football.
Chukwueze is familiar with Spanish football, having spent three seasons in La Liga. During his last season with Villarreal, he played in almost every game, scoring six goals and assisting five times.
He earned an impressive FotMob rating of 7.16 that season.
Last season at AC Milan, Chukwueze featured in 26 Serie A matches, starting only nine. He scored three goals and registered three assists.
He took 32 shots throughout the season, with only eight on target. His pass accuracy stood at 83.7%, while his long ball accuracy was 72%.
Despite his contributions, he only managed to create 27 goal-scoring opportunities throughout the season and had a low crossing accuracy of 20%, which is an important factor for wingers. He had a total of 604 touches on the ball while playing for Villarreal, with only 59 of those touches occurring inside the opposition’s penalty area.
His successful dribble rate was 56.5%, a skill commonly associated with African wingers.
