Man Admits Sexually Assaulting Woman Drugged and Raped by Her Husband

A man has admitted sexually assaulting a woman who was allegedly drugged and raped by her husband without her knowledge.

The woman’s husband broke down in tears last month after admitting 60 charges relating to the drugging and rape of his wife over a 20-year period.

The man, who is in his 60s and cannot be named to protect his wife’s identity, repeatedly sobbed as he pleaded guilty to dozens of charges including rape, assault by penetration, sexual assault and attempted rape.

He also admitted administering a substance “with the intention of stupefying or overpowering” her “so as to enable” sexual activity between November 2004 and October 2025.

As the husband admitted two further charges at Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester today, one of 12 men accused of offences against the woman also pleaded guilty.

Unemployed Sean Peers, 38, from Stockport, admitted assaulting the woman by penetration on September 15, 2024.

Judge Maurice Greene told Peers that he would now be subject to a notification requirement under the Sexual Offences Act.

Peers was granted bail and will be sentenced at a later date.

His guilty pleas now cover a total of 62 charges.
