PRESIDENTIAL candidate Nikki Haley lambasted a fellow Republican White House hopeful this week after he brought her family into the third presidential debate.
Haley came to her daughter’s defense on Wednesday after fellow candidate Vivek Ramsawamy pointed to her social media use.
During the debate in Miami, Ramaswamy blasted Haley for previously criticizing him for using the popular video social media app TikTok.
“In the last debate, she made fun of me for actually joining TikTok while her own daughter was actually using the app for a long time. So you might want to take care of your family first,” Ramaswamy said.
Haley shot back at her opponent, saying “leave my daughter out of your voice.”
“You’re just scum.”
While Haley and Ramaswamy have butted heads on the debate stage before, it appeared to be the first time one directly hit at the other’s family.
Haley stood by her response after the debate, telling NBC News: “I’m a mom. The second you start saying something about my 25-year-old daughter I’m going to get my back up.”
When asked for additional comment on the matter, Haley’s campaign team stood by the former governor’s remarks.
