During an episode of MS NOW’s “All In” on Thursday, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz addressed the ongoing impact of an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) operation in Minneapolis, suggesting that President Donald Trump struggles to move past it because the people of Minnesota are still seeking justice.
Governor Walz remarked, “You’ll notice a strong presence at the No King’s rallies, with thanks to supporters nationwide. Minneapolis and Minnesota have set an example for challenging this administration. There’s still much work ahead as justice is yet to be achieved.”
He continued, “Just yesterday, I exercised my executive authority to establish a commission aimed at capturing the stories. Collaborating with the ACLU and various groups, particularly immigrant advocates, and with support from organizations like the United Nations, we’re documenting the events in Minnesota. The severe actions taken here would have previously prompted the U.S. to investigate if they occurred abroad, as we once stood for reason, decency, and human rights. We intend to investigate thoroughly and record these narratives. If President Trump believes he can simply move on from issues like Greenland, Venezuela, or the conflict in Iran he initiated, he is mistaken. As his administration draws to a close, Minnesotans will continue to demand justice. It is our duty to ensure this happens.”
