A MOM has been arrested and charged after police said she created a mixed drink to ward off a school bully accused of stealing from her son.

Jennifer Lynn Rossi, 45, told Bexar County deputies she mixed the solution of lemon juice, salt, vinegar, and Gatorade before telling her son to give it to the alleged bully.

After consuming the drink on March 5, the 10-year-old pupil at Legacy Traditional School, Alamo Ranch, is said to have felt nauseous with a headache and was rushed to the hospital.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said the student, whose school is approximately 20 miles northwest of downtown San Antonio, Texas, believed the liquid was a Prime energy drink.

Instead, it was a non-toxic mix of lemon juice, salt, vinegar, and Gatorade.

“Although, the contents of the drink were non-toxic, the incident resulted in a child being hospitalized,” Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement.

“Hospital staff informed the investigator that the child victim required additional medical monitoring and would eventually be discharged from the hospital.”

Rossi was charged with injury to a child resulting in bodily injury- reckless by omission.

She was booked in Bexar County Jail and later released on a $1,000 bond.

Rossi told deputies she “only did it to stop the bullies at her son’s school” as her son had his energy drink stolen the day prior, according to an affidavit obtained by ABC affiliate KSAT.

An arrest warrant affidavit, which notes that Rossi is a nurse, admitted to police and school authorities that she made the drink, gave it to her son, and directed him to give it to the classmate who had allegedly been bullying him.

A statement from the school sent to KSAT says that Rossi’s son will be subject to “disciplinary actions.”

The statement reads in part: “Nothing is more important to us than the safety of our students, teachers, and staff members.

“We thank the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office for its investigation into this serious incident, and commend students and staff members who acted promptly by alerting the administration and local authorities.”

News of her arrest was posted to The Bexar County Sherriff’s Office Facebook page, where followers sounded off on the situation.
