A man was caught on camera climbing onto a primary school worker’s motorbike and grabbing her hips as his friends laughed nearby.
Ellie, who has chosen not to reveal her surname, said she was horrified when the “inappropriate” man ran into the road in Manchester city centre and climbed onto her motorcycle without permission.
The 32-year-old later posted footage of the incident online, prompting an outpouring of support from social media users who condemned the man as “vile”.
The incident was recorded on September 12 by a camera attached to her friend Charlotte’s motorcycle helmet. The video shows Ellie waiting in traffic on Oldham Street on her bright green Kawasaki ER-6F.
Wearing black clothing and a black helmet, Ellie revs the engine as she prepares to move away from the traffic lights.
Without warning, a man in blue jeans and a grey jacket runs from the pavement into the road, climbs onto the back of Ellie’s bike and sits behind her in full view of passing pedestrians.
After finding his balance, he places his hands on the startled rider’s hips while people nearby can be heard reacting with screams of surprise.
Ellie shouts before striking the man across the face with her right hand. She then holds out her palm, appearing incredulous at what has just happened.

The man then holds his ear as though he is in pain before jogging back towards a nearby bar, where his friends are waiting and laughing.
Ellie looks sharply towards the group of men and shakes her head in disbelief after the unwelcome encounter.
At the next traffic lights, Ellie tells her friend, “I am shaking,” before the pair imitate the man’s pained reaction to being slapped.
The primary school employee said her “survival instincts” took over after the man climbed onto her bike.
“Never would have happened if I was with some of the guys,” said Ellie, who is from Salford.
“A man jumping onto a woman’s bike without consent is weird.

“I was so focused on not dropping the bike that I genuinely didn’t even process how inappropriate the whole thing was until afterwards.
“Gave him a good whack though, so at least the survival instincts kicked in.”
Ellie shared the shocking footage online, where it went on to receive more than 387,000 likes.
She captioned the video: “Someone come get their grandad. He’s out here touching women and bikes.”
