THE mother of a child killed in a murder-suicide was killed in a car crash on Friday.

Stephanie Croteau died just after midnight and was the only person in the car. She died of her injuries on the scene.

Croteau’s 10-year-old daughter Aubrianna and her mother, 52-year-old Kim Fairbanks, were recently killed by their neighbor.

Victor Nieves shot at Croteau’s three children and mother before turning the gun on himself.

The grandmother and family dog were killed at the scene, according to police. Aubrianna died a few days later on August 17 in the hospital after fighting for her life.

Nieves’ girlfriend, Monica Sanchez, said that he was acting crazy in the days leading to the murder and wasn’t sleeping.

Sanchez was charged with eight counts of improper storage of a weapon and one count of illegal possession of a large-capacity magazine after the crime.

“You always were able to put a smile on everyone’s face. My baby. My love. My little Nani. You came into this world fight and you left this world fighting,” Croteau wrote after Aubrianna died.

“I love you my fierce girl. You were a warrior.”

On October 4, she wrote, “I have just started to go through the thousands of messages of the outpouring of love and support from everyone in the community and elsewhere. I appreciate every single one of you for reaching out.”

“Everyday is hard. It doesn’t seem to be better, but I’m surviving. So thank you,” Croteau said.

On Thursday, Croteau wrote one last tribute to her daughter on Facebook.

“Cuddles with Aubrie,” she wrote with a picture of her children laying at Aubriana’s grave.

Croteau died less than 24 hours after the post.
