TOP O’ THE MORNIN’

Minnesota’s Attorney General, who is Muslim, has sparked controversy by telling Christians that incidents of church ambushes are “just something you’ve gotta live with.” The remark has ignited a debate about religious tolerance and safety in places of worship.

Meanwhile, Department of Homeland Security’s McLaughlin has promised that “mugshots will be released soon” for the activists responsible for disrupting a church service in Minnesota. This move aims to address concerns from the community and hold the perpetrators accountable.

Keith Ellison knows full well that the ambushers had no right to enter the private property of the church and stop the faithful from worshipping. He’ll happily turn a blind eye to it, of course, as long as the brown shirts for whom he provides cover continue to create chaos. Chaos, of course, is Ellison’s justification for seizing more power.

DHS’ McLaughlin Promises ‘Mugshots Soon’ for Activists Who Disrupted MN Church Worship Service

No matter what justification these communists want to use, their zeal to hold authorities accountable extends to their resentment of the highest authority: God himself. If you can stand to watch the video, you’ll notice the fact that when the screeching activists failed to get the response they wanted from the congregants, it enraged them even further. No earthly justice will fix that: Only God can repair a wicked heart.

Tim Walz Further Embarrasses Himself With Pathetic, Belated ‘Statement’ on Minnesota Church Invasion

I’m not sure what’s worse – the fact that Walz stayed silent for as long as he did or the fact that he couldn’t even be bothered to put out a video statement expressly coming down on the law-breaking agitators and demanding arrests.

Some Anti-ICE Protesters in Minnesota Are Openly Carrying. What Does the Law Say?

Now, having said that, if you’re trying to look tough and intimidating, I’d say carrying a .22 caliber rifle really isn’t your best option. And regardless of what you’re carrying, you still need to follow the fundamental rules of gun safety. That includes proper trigger discipline and not pointing the muzzle of your rifle at someone, even accidentally.

If you can’t do that, then leave the gun at home and protest with a sign or a megaphone instead.

Alberta Separation Petition Drive Got a Bad Case of ‘Holy SMOKES, We Got This Thing in the Bag’

The numbers have suddenly gone so berserk so fast that normally moribund petition signature projections, which initially guided the schedule the separation groups were working on, have been thrown out. They are being fast-tracked into the ‘next step’ planning stages months ahead of time, thanks to the tremendous and overwhelming response.

The CFP Championship Crowd Had Quite a Reaction to the President on Monday Night

Jamal Roberts, the winner of Season 23 of American Idol, sang the national anthem, and while I thought it was a good performance, the real star of the moment was the president. When the camera panned to him sitting in his suite at Hard Rock Stadium, the crowd went absolutely wild, erupting into cheers. The MSM will, no doubt,  try to tell you otherwise on Tuesday — ignore them.

Wait, There’s No Way a CNN Guest Did This After Getting Roasted by Scott Jennings

So, all that stuff about the truth and Scott not having a grasp of it is immolated by the peddling of rumors while enabling the ‘his/her truth’ narrative, which is liberal-speak for ‘I have no evidence to support my claims, but it feels good.’

OWNED! Former Reaganite KT McFarland Kindly Schools TF Out of Keith Olbermann After He Calls HER a Moron

She was far too kind to Olbermann, who is himself most definitely a moron.

Honestly, that he thinks she’s a moron is truly a compliment because, woof, the guy is a mess.

WHAT’S ON TAP?

Today on Capitol Hill…

There’s only one meeting (officially) scheduled on the Hill for Tuesday:

  • House Rules — H.R. 6945 – Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act; H.R. 6359 – Pregnant Students’ Rights Act; H.J. Res. 140 – Providing for congressional disapproval under chapter 8 of title 5, United States Code, of the rule submitted by the Bureau of Land Management relating to Public Land Order No. 7917 for Withdrawal of Federal Lands; Cook, Lake, and Saint Louis Counties, MN

House Speaker Mike Johnson (LA-04) is in London, where he addressed Parliament early Tuesday morning.

White House What’s Up

President Trump will participate in “Signing Time” in the Oval Office on Tuesday afternoon before he heads off to Davos, Switzerland, for the World Economic Forum.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt will hold a press briefing at 1:00 PM Eastern.

Keeping Up With the Cabinet

Sec. War – Pete Hegseth — Hegseth recently came out swinging against a Small Business Administration contracting program, referring to it as “the oldest DEI program in the federal government.”

Full Court Press…

The courts were largely quiet on Monday, it being a federal holiday, but we did get this interesting ruling out of Judge Jia Cobb in D.C. regarding congressional visits to immigration detention facilities.

  • Neguse v. ICE (immigration detention facilities) — Judge Jia Cobb (D.C.) DENIES plaintiffs’ motion for order to show cause.

The Supreme Court will hear oral argument on Tuesday in two cases:

  1. Wolford v. Lopez — 1) Whether the Ninth Circuit erred in holding, in direct conflict with the Second Circuit, that Hawaii may presumptively prohibit the carry of handguns by licensed concealed carry permit holders on private property open to the public unless the property owner affirmatively gives express permission to the handgun carrier? 2) Whether the Ninth Circuit erred in solely relying on post-Reconstruction Era and later laws in applying Bruen’s text, history and tradition test in direct conflict with the holdings of the Third, Fifth, Eighth and Eleventh Circuits?
  2. M&K Employee Solutions, LLC v. Trustees of the IAM Pension Fund — Whether 29 U.S.C. 1391’s instruction to compute withdrawal liability “as of the end of the plan year” requires the plan to base the computation on the actuarial assumptions to which its actuary subscribed at the end of the year, or allows the plan to use different actuarial assumptions that were adopted after the end of the year.

More importantly, it appears SCOTUS will be handing down more decisions this morning.

COMING ATTRACTIONS

As noted above, SCOTUS opinions are incoming.

Trump in Davos is going to be interesting.

So will Jack Smith testifying before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday.

MORNING MUSING

I know, I know — we’re getting a heavy dose of Lemon at the moment, but do not worry, I’ve little doubt good ol’ Don will fade from the headlines before we know it. It’s just that right now, he’s everywhere. And while you might (understandably) find that annoying, I find it useful. Because no one better articulates the absolute insanity and inanity of the Left’s cause du jour than Don Lemon is doing right now.

He referred to himself as the “face” of the infamous Cities Church invasion incident. Good. Let him be the face of it. Let him be the spox for it. Let the rest of the world see how utterly devoid of logic and goodwill he and his fellow travelers are.

And then let them reap the consequences of their idiocy. I am here for it. 🍿

LIGHTER FARE

H/t to the handsome beau for sharing this one with me. Love the look just before the steal. (Reminds me of my beloved Pringle, who absolutely HAD to have a toy (or dish towel) in his mouth to greet you at the door.)
