Inspired by Erika Kirk, Tim Allen Makes Powerful Statement About Forgiving the Man Who Killed His Father

It has been a little over two weeks since the assassination of Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk.

In the aftermath of his death, people have vowed to carry on his message. His memorial was a powerful event, with President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance in attendance.

There was a big moment when Trump and Elon Musk reunited and shook hands. They appeared to have buried the hatchet after a tense falling out some months ago, with Trump welcoming Musk back. Both Musk and the White House posted a picture of their reunion with the caption: “For Charlie.”

Perhaps the most affecting moment was when his wife, Erika Kirk, spoke about the alleged assassin, saying how Charlie wanted to save young men like him.

Then, she forgave him.

That touched a lot of people, including former “Home Improvement” star Tim Allen, who is now on “Shifting Gears.” Allen said it moved him to do something that he hasn’t been able to do for over 60 years.

When Erika Kirk spoke the words on the man who killed her husband: “That man… that young man… I forgive him.”  That moment deeply affected me.  I have struggled for over 60 years to forgive the man who killed my Dad. I will say those words now as I type: “ I forgive the man who killed my father.” Peace be with you all.

Allen’s father was killed in a car accident by a drunk driver when Allen was 11 years old.

Allen said in a 2012 interview that “part of him still doesn’t trust that everything will work out all right” because of what happened to his father.

What an important moment for Allen to finally be able to make that change, to find that peace for which he’s been struggling.

Allen was touched by Erika Kirk’s actions. Then, more were inspired by Allen’s post on X, with many speaking of their efforts to forgive others for what they may have done that harmed their lives. His post has now had millions of views.

It’s a special grace that’s spreading to others.
