A WOMAN has refused to move out of a plush luxury home she was renting more than 500 days after her tenancy ended.

Elizabeth Hirschhorn rented a plush $3.8million home in September 2021 and was expected to move out months later.

But more than a year after her tenancy agreement ended, she is still living at the property in the Los Angeles neighborhood of Brentwood, per The Los Angeles Times.

Homeowner Sascha Jovanovic has been ordered by her legal team to cough up $100,000 to get the case resolved.

Hirschhorn has been living in a property that’s owned by Jovanovic, 61.

Jovanovic, from Amsterdam, bought the home in 1995 and started renting it out in 2019 as an Airbnb.

He agreed a contract with Hirschhorn on terms of $105 per night. The bill came to $20,793 for 187 nights.

Court documents seen by The Los Angeles Times revealed that Hirschhorn flagged that the blinds were not working five months into the tenancy.

Jovanovic went to look at the issue and spotted water damage that he claimed wasn’t there beforehand, per the docs.

He had offered to pay for a hotel as well as $1,500 while the repairs were completed, according to emails and messages seen by The Times.

Hirschhorn’s tenancy was expected to end on March 19 2022 but was given a few extra weeks to find a new place, per court documents.

But, there was no formal agreement.

In an email seen by The Times, he claimed he would consider Hirschhorn a “trespasser” if she didn’t leave by April 12.

He claimed: “After this date, I will use my legal rights to remove you from my property.”

But Jovanovic offered $2,000 to Hirschhorn as help for a future move.

Jovanovic said he has tried to evict Hirschhorn but has been unable to following a judge’s ruling.

Building officials have found two issues with the property that caused code violations.

One problem was that the property wasn’t approved for occupancy and the other was a fault with the shower.

Lawyer Colin Walshok, who is representing Hirschhorn, said she was never required to pay rent because of these two issues.

Walshok said: “The landlord broke the law and tried to make money by renting out an illegal bootleg unit.”

Amanda Seward, who is also part of Hirschhorn’s legal team, has offered a $100,000 settlement.

Hirschhorn stayed in Jovanovic’s home for six months and qualified for the Just Cause Ordinance program in Los Angeles.

It means landlords must have a legal reason to evict a tenant.

They must fork out money toward relocation if they cannot give a legal reason behind an eviction.

Jovanovic has filed a complaint and is trying to get $58,000 back in unpaid rent.

He’s also filed a detainer complaint trying to evict her.

Hirschhorn is suing Jovanovic on several allegations, including nuisance and negligence.

Jovanovic has told how the legal battle has had an impact on himself.

He said that he doesn’t want to rent out his home anymore and is scared to walk to his car.

His lawyer Sebastian Rucci branded Hirschhorn the “tenant from hell.”

The U.S. Sun has approached Sebastian Rucci, Colin Walshok, and Amanda Seward for comment.
