A YOUTUBER has claimed that he’s being harassed by his HOA, and the motive behind it is much more disturbing than what he originally thought.

Erik Fanclb, an influencer with 182,000 followers on his Outdoors with Erik YouTube channel, has received several HOA notices regarding the state of his yard, and after a disturbing email, he realized how far his neighbors went to get him reported.

Fanclb, known for his YouTube channel (@OutdoorswithErik) first thought the emails were a joke since they didn’t have an HOA signature.

However, the emails kept coming threatening upwards of $1,000 fines due to how he kept his yard, including the overgrown grass by his creek.

A few weeks after finally responding to the violation notices, the YouTuber received an email from his neighbor confirming they were watching him, so they could find new things to report.

The email stated: “Erik, several of us in the HOA are unhappy with the attention your YouTube/Facebook page is drawing. We do not have a rule against what you are doing on social media yet, we will be reporting every violation we see no matter how minor until your family finds it financially better to move.”

The disgruntled neighbor continues to point out the HOA violations they saw including Fanclb leaving his barn door open and not moving his trash bin from the road within 24 hours.

Shortly after this email, the HOA began threatening hefty $1,000 fines for not cleaning up the weeds in his lawn.

“Why are HOAs so flaky? Why do they care? You and I and others throughout the world are spending our hard-earned money paying for a property [and] they got all these finicky rules,” Fanclb responded in his video.

“If you buy a house [or] you buy a property you should be able to do what you want with it.”

Things took a turn for the worse when he received another email about the dead bushes in his front yard.

He claimed the HOA told him that the dead plants were against their policy and threatened that if he didn’t get rid of them, he would receive a $3,000 fine for the three bushes.

Fed up with the emails, Fanclb decided to paint the dead bushes green instead of pulling them out.

“I am sick of harassment” he explained.

The YouTuber believes the cause of the harassment is due to his earlier videos, which might have sparked controversy within his neighborhood.
