Bonnie Gross (@shake_ur_bonbon) revealed that her New York apartment had no heat.

“When it’s 17 degrees and your non-responsive landlord controls the heat, ” she wrote on TikTok.

In the video, the Tiktoker had to do her best to keep warm by sporting a sweater, drinking some tea, and sitting next to a portable heater.

“These pre-war buildings are aesthetic but cold,” she captioned her video.

While some might be surprised that she never told her landlord about the situation she admitted that she “really hates confrontation.”

However, the weather might get worse as forecasters have recently warned that parts of the US should expect significant snowfall over the cold season.

Forecasters at Almanac believe that snow will come down a lot heavier this year in areas that are more prone to snow.

Snow is expected to arrive in the beginning of November in both the Northeast and Midwest.

Even into the spring, people should expect Storms, showers, and flurries in those regions.

Americans will get to experience normal to colder-than-normal temperatures in regions that typically endure snow.

Those looking to stay warm in their homes should avoid the simple mistake one Tiktoker made.

Brianna Tucker (@thebriannatucker) explained in a TikTok video, that had bought a home but one crucial mistake had her home freezing cold in the winter.

“For anyone buying a home, just bought a home, thinking about buying a home, before winter hits, you better find out if your house is electric or gas heated,” she said.

“So, you gotta turn your heat on all the way to 80, and it’s been three days, and it’s still 50 degrees in your house,” she explained.

At first, she was confused as to why her home wasn’t getting any warmer, so she asked her dad to come and check it out.

That’s how she realized that her house was gas-heated, so turning up the thermostat was never going to get her house warm.

“Now, you have a gas person coming tomorrow to, I guess, turn the heat on,” she admitted.

People tend to turn their gas heaters off in the summer to save money.

Experts recommend turning the heat on when the indoor temperature is below 64 degrees Fahrenheit.
