BARBIE-THEMED houses have been popping up everywhere.

Michelle Vega owns multiple pink houses in the Raleigh, North Carolina area and renters love it.

Vega also owns UFO and 1960s-themed Airbnbs around the area.

Barbara-Ann Grant was a guest at the ’60s house and shared her experience with local CBS affiliate WNCN.

“My dad likes a lot of the sixties music so he’s playing it a lot and I think he really enjoys this theme,” she said.

Vega said she began converting her homes into different styles to make them stand out in the market as interest rates rose.

“My brother noticed it right away,” Grant said.

“Just by the cool theme, it stood out to him. It was actually the first one he clicked on when he pulled up the app, so we booked it right away.”

“It’s really colorful and the overall energy about this place is just a lot different than other ones,” her brother Dustin Grant explained.

“Most of the other ones are really dull and gray, but this one is the complete opposite of that.”

Even the neighbors of the pink Barbie-themed houses found them interesting and not detrimental to the community, even if there were a few college parties going down in them.

“It’s fantastic,” neighbor Vanesa Capiz said.

She said the house makes her kids think their toys are real.

“When they see the house they say ‘Oh my gosh, we live in front of that Barbie house!’”

Other neighbors were less enthusiastic, but still appreciated how nicely done the house was.

“It’s a nice house,” neighbor Larry Royster said.

“It’s just a lot of Central students party in it and stuff.”

He did explain that he is used to the parties in the area though, and that the uniqueness of the house is what draws them to it.

“I’ve lived over here 22 years so I’m used to all the Central parties and get-togethers and football games and stuff, so it’s nothing new,” he said.

The Barbie house is in a quiet, residential neighborhood, but neighbors said guests have mostly been quiet and respectful.
