A MAN has decided to get petty revenge on his neighbor, after receiving an anonymous note complaining about his leaves.

In 2015, Carl Davingnon, a Springfield, Massachusetts resident received an anonymous note complaining about his lawn. Not knowing who exactly to confront, he decided to use a sign to get revenge.

The note stated: “Please pick up your leaves. there blowing across the street into our yard.”

Instead of doing what the note had asked, Davingnon hand-painted a sign on his lawn, specifically calling out the person who wrote the letter.

“Thank you for being concerned about our leaves. thus far no mandatory date has been set for removal,” Davingnon wrote.

According to the local station WWLP-22, there is no specific rule stating that the neighbors have to pick up their leaves before Thanksgiving.

After the holiday, a resident can receive a $50 fine for not clearing up their leaves.

Davingnon claimed to the news station that there was no need for him to pick up the leaves before late November.

“I have a tree that falls late so I don’t want to go out there in October or anything like that. What can I do? They’re blowing everywhere, as you see they’re blowing now. They’re all over the place” he explained.

Springfield Deputy Code Enforcement Director David Cotter agreed with Davingnon, enforcing the fact that he did not have to clear his leaves until late November of that year.

He clarified that the angry neighbor could file a civil suit against Davingnon, but disputes over leaves are almost never handled that way.
