A LOUISIANA man is facing backlash over his Halloween decorations that his neighbors call “blasphemous.”
Vic Miorana of New Orleans is an avid lover of Halloween and all the decorations he places on his lawn.

The homeowner spends weeks and sometimes months planning and making the decor by hand, creating elaborate foam figurines, props and more to bring the spooky holiday to life.
However, some neighbors think he has crossed the line.
This year, Miorana’s decorations consist of classic skeletons, ghouls, and gravestones – including one that reads “Hilary’s emails.”
Additionally, the Halloween set up features gory crucified figurines dressed like nuns and priests.
One figurine – appearing to be the Devil – is also seen holding the bloody head of Jesus.
Many neighbors have criticized the decorations, claiming it disrespects religion.
“Is it protection, yes, but does that make it right? That’s my real question and would you do this with another religion because I don’t think you would,” a resident told WDSU.
Others have taken to social media, calling it “blasphemous,” “disgusting,” and “horrible,” according to USA Today.

Some have even gone as far to call the police and Miorana’s place of employment to complain.
The New Orleans resident revealed to the outlet that his employer has no qualms with the decorations and supports his First Amendment rights to erect the figurines.
Some residents even contacted his girlfriend’s employers, who allegedly gave her an ultimatum.
Miorana told USA Today that the couple separated in order for her to keep her job.
While neighbors have continued to complain, Miroana’s decorations appear to be approved by the city.
New Orleans code enforcement reportedly examined the property and found that it is compliant.
“I’m a regular guy that works a regular job all throughout the year and this is the one time I really get to do something that I love to do,” Miroana said.
“I’m not out to hurt anybody, it was never meant to be that way…most people get it, some people don’t.”
The resident revealed that his inspiration for the display comes from a haunted house that used to be the area called The House of Shock.
“It was terrifying, compared to every other haunted house that you would usually go to, it was very scary and I found that it was because of the theme, it’s a theme that scares people,” he said.
Miroana has said he hopes to open a haunted house of his own one day.
“To all the people that are insulting or bullying or threatening or inciting violence, I would just like to say that I forgive them. I love them. God bless them and Happy Halloween.”
“I try to do fun things for the neighborhood in a neighborhood that doesn’t decorate much at all,” he added.
“It’s just for fun, I’m not trying to indoctrinate anyone into the Satanic Church here.”
