NATO Nations Send Ships to Protect Greta Thunberg's 'Gaza Flotilla'

Two NATO nations have dispatched naval surface combatants to protect the alleged Gaza relief flotilla and selfie festival headlined by the Doom Pixie, Greta Thunberg.

Italy and Spain decided to send warships to protect a flotilla manned by “activists” from several countries that is supposedly carrying aid to Gaza. Given the carrying capacity of the boats, it is difficult to imagine the flotilla is anything but a propaganda event. Allegedly, there are fears that Israel may use force to stop the flotilla. The people aboard the flotilla are doing their best to create events to bolster their claim of being under siege by Israel.

In early September, the “activists” caught themselves on video manufacturing a drone attack.

The most recent alleged drone attack took place on Wednesday. It is this event that created the cover story, allowing Spain to virtue signal by sending a ship to the rescue. As it turns out, this attack appears to have been staged as well.

Israel has made an offer to transload supplies from the flotilla to other ships for transport to Gaza. But the flotilla’s leaders, like good little Marxists-Leninists, appear to be more interested in a body count of their own members than bringing a minuscule amount of supplies to Gaza.

The flotilla’s leaders rebuffed the call for collaboration. “We will continue directly to Gaza to deliver the humanitarian aid, to open up the humanitarian corridor,” said Yasemin Acar, a member of the flotilla’s steering committee.” The aging Doom Pixie amplified this message: “We are sailing peacefully in international waters, we are not carrying weapons, we are carrying food, baby formula, medical supplies, and water, and we are sailing to break Israel’s illegal and inhumane siege.”

The response of Italy and Spain seems driven as much by domestic politics as by any military purpose. Spain seems more bought into the project. You’ll recall Spain did not contribute naval assets to protect shipping in the Red Sea.

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has called the flotilla organizers irresponsible: “There is no need to risk one’s safety and enter a war theater to deliver aid to Gaza,” But thanks to unrestricted migration to Italy from North Africa and the Middle East, Meloni is being forced into a display of sympathy.

Both nations will only escort the flotilla as far as Israel’s territorial waters. But at a time of maximum stress on NATO, it is bizarre to find two of its members taking hostile action against Israel on behalf of Islamic extremism and terrorism.
