New York State Thumbs Its Nose at Trump and ICE, Lets Loose Almost 7K Illegal Alien Criminals

New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani, known for his far-left positions, has yet to officially take office. However, the state has already been actively supporting undocumented immigrants, standing in opposition to the Trump administration’s initiatives aimed at removing criminal non-citizens from the streets. This year alone, nearly 7,000 undocumented individuals, some facing serious criminal charges, have been released in the state.

The state’s protection extends to individuals who are implicated in severe offenses, prioritizing them over the safety of its citizens. This situation is exacerbated by the presence of thousands more detained in New York City jails.

The situation arises from sanctuary laws that restrict standard law enforcement agencies from collaborating with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Tricia McLaughlin, Assistant Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security, expressed strong criticism on Monday towards Democratic leaders like Governor Kathy Hochul and Representative Dan Goldman (NY-10) for their policies that she argues put the public at risk.

New York state has released nearly 7,000 known illegal migrant criminals without notifying ICE since President Trump took office — including murderers, sexual predators and a maniac booted from the US eight times who attacked an Ithaca cop with a machete, the Department of Homeland Security revealed Monday.

Their rap sheets include 29 homicides, thousands of assaults and hundreds of burglaries, robberies, drug offenses, weapons offenses and sexual predatory offenses, according to DHS.

There are also thousands more still in NYC jails.

This is all thanks to sanctuary laws, which prohibit regular law enforcement from cooperating with ICE. Assistant Secretary at the Department of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin on Monday railed against Democrats like Gov. Kathy Hochul and Rep. Dan Goldman (NY-10) for putting the public at risk:

We’re saying that these criminal illegal aliens are exiting the jails and going back onto New York or Chicago or these other sanctuary streets to re perpetuate their crimes. Today, in New York City’s jails are 7,169 criminal illegal aliens. We’re talking about hundreds of murderers, hundreds of sexual predators, drug traffickers, the worst of the worst.

She continued:

Dan Goldman and these other sanctuary city politicians, they should agree to hand over those individuals, honor those detainers, and then we won’t have to flood the zone with our ICE law enforcement. We won’t have to put those men and women on the ground because we will get these vicious criminals out of New York City’s jails.

She also tweeted that almost 7,000 have been let out on the streets:

-29 homicides

-2,509 assaults

-207 sexual predatory offenses

-199 burglaries

-305 robberies

-392 dangerous drugs offenses

-300 weapons offenses

This is why we flood the zone.

Here are just a couple of the lovelies set free by the state, only (thankfully) later to be nabbed by ICE:

Vyacheslav Danilovich Kim — who was busted for traveling to have sex with a girl whom he believed was 13 years old.

Steven Daniel Henriquez Galicia, 25, a Dominican national who entered the US illegally in 2016, was arrested in the Bronx last year for attempted murder after he allegedly opened fire outside an apartment building.

Anderson Smith Satuye Martinez, 21, a Crips gang member and Honduran national with a prior assault conviction, was busted Aug. 19 for criminal possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance.

ICE Director Todd Lyons sent a letter to NY Attorney General Letitia James on Monday demanding that they release the illegals still in custody to ICE. Expect the TDS-riddled AG to ignore his request.

The sanctuary laws date back to disgraced former Empire State Gov. Andrew Cuomo, who recently lost the mayoral race to Mamdani. If there were ever a choice between two evils, that was it.

New York’s sanctuary laws tie the hands of law enforcement when cooperating with immigration agents, which crime suspects and even convicted child molesters are released back into the community — instead of being sent home.

A 2017 executive order signed by then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo prohibits law enforcement officers from using “resources, equipment, or personnel” for helping feds enforce immigration laws.

As we’ve seen in blue state after blue state and deteriorating city after deteriorating city, Democrats are more concerned with fighting ICE and Trump than making our neighborhoods safe. Sanctuary policies need to go the way of the dodo bird and become extinct, because, as has been proven over and over, they’re simply bad for America.

Editor’s Note: Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left’s lies, new legislation wasn’t needed to secure our border, just a new president.
