Grassroots America First candidate John Kane is challenging RNC lackey Michael Whatley to be the next Chairman of the North Carolina Republican Party at this weekend’s NC GOP Convention. As National File reported, under Whatley’s leadership, the North Carolina GOP has been called a “wholly owned subsidiary of the RNC,” with Ronna Romney dumping more money into the party than North Carolinians themselves.

John Kane, a North Carolina businessman and political outsider is challenging North Carolina GOP Chairman Michael Whatley, a close associate of Ronna Romney McDaniel, for the chairmanship and his campaign is experiencing a groundswell of support from grassroots conservatives ahead of the vote.

In addition to serving as the state’s GOP Chairman, Michael Whatley works as the RNC’s General Counsel, despite his lack of legal experience and the fact that he didn’t even have a law license when named as RNC General Counsel, rendering him useless in combatting election fraud and left-wing lawfare.

As National File reported:

Though Whatley and the RNC claim that he is an “accomplished lawyer,” he had no law license from January 27th, 2017, until May 23rd, 2023, when he was re-instated to the North Carolina Bar, months after he was hired as the RNC’s General Counsel. According to the results of a search, Whatley has NEVER been registered with the Bar in Washington, D.C., where the RNC is headquartered.

John Kane has blasted Whatley’s apparent dual loyalties on his campaign website. Under Whatley’s leadership, the NC GOP has actually lost seats in Congress to Democrats.

“Has the NCGOP been successful?” Kane asks on his website. “It depends.”

“If it exists to serve the interests of its largest donor, the RNC, it has been successful,” Kane goes on. “If it exists to protect elected Republicans who abandon the party platform, it has been successful.  If it exists as a stepping stone to a more prominent position with the RNC, it has been successful.”

Much like he has from Kane’s campaign, Whatley has faced staunch criticism from the grassroots for his work with the RNC, which has repeatedly sold out the America First movement in favor of globalist corporate interests.

Speaking recently with National File, grassroots activist and former NC District 11 Secretary Margaret Ackiss, Ph.D., slammed Whatley’s ties to the RNC and questioned how he could effectively serve two masters: the people of North Carolina, and the interests of Ronna Romney and the national donor class.

Dr. Ackiss told National File that the situation presents a “clear conflict of interest…since [Michael Whatley] clearly will be making decisions on behalf of Ronna Romney and the corporations who buy favor in DC, rather than making decisions based on what’s best for Republican voters in North Carolina.”
