“The horrific attacks by the terrorist organization Hamas in Israel have shaken the world,” he said.

“New York City rejects terrorism, we reject hate, we stand united.”

Adams said that while there’s no credible threat, the city would be responding accordingly.

“We have directed the NYPD to surge additional resources to schools and houses of worship to ensure they are safe and that our city remains a place of peace,” reads his post.

Various neighborhoods will receive more NYPD patrols before and during the protests.

“Let’s all do our part,” he wrote.

“If you see something, say something.”

Nicholas Wu, a reporter for Politico, shared on X that the United States Capitol Police would also be increasing their security.

“We are enhancing security throughout the Capitol Complex,” reads the statement.

“Some of what we’re doing will be visible but for safety reasons, we cannot provide the public details about all of the resources that we are putting into protecting the Congress.”

The US Government’s warning and notices of increased security were issued following a call for protests by Khaled Mashaal, a former leader of Hamas.

“Deliver a message through, the squares and the streets, a message of anger, that we are with Palestine,” he said per Newsweek.

He reportedly mentioned “jihad,” with outlets reporting that he asked for a “global jihad.”
