Zohran Mamdani, a member of the Socialist party, has been elected as the next mayor of New York City, marking a significant shift in the city’s political landscape.

However, New Yorkers may soon face the consequences of this bold choice as Mamdani’s policies begin to take shape.

In a recent interview with Dan Mannarino, the politics managing editor and anchor at PIX11 News, Mamdani discussed his ambitious proposal for complimentary bus services. Mannarino pressed him on how he intended to finance the plan, which carries a hefty price tag of $700 million, especially in light of New York Governor Kathy Hochul’s opposition to tax increases.

Mamdani suggested that one avenue for raising the necessary funds could be through increasing the corporate tax rate. This approach, however, could potentially drive more businesses to relocate out of the city.

Mannarino pointedly reminded him, “But she said no,” highlighting the resistance Mamdani faces in implementing his plans.

Mamdani said one of the ways was through the raising of the corporate tax. That’s likely to make more businesses flee the city. 

The interviewer interjected, “But she said no.” 

Mamdani also mentioned personal income tax on those making over $1 million a year. 

“The most important fact is that we fund it, not the question of how we do it, but that we do it,” he said. 

I’m kind of thinking that if you don’t know how you’re going to do it, that might be a problem. But that’s just little logical me. I realize that when you’re a socialist, money grows on trees and drops out of the sky from the magic fairies with pixie dust, but for most of the rest of us, we have to figure out where our money is coming from to support the things that we want. 

When you have a guy with a deficient ideology and, kindly said, a truly limited job background, maybe these are questions that aren’t real to him. And New York City elected this. They’re about to find out. 

Not only would you lose the revenue from the buses, but they will also become rolling homeless shelters. That’s going to be problematic for the riders and the drivers. That’s assuming this ever even happens and wasn’t just a thing to dangle out there to get people to vote for him. 

I can hear all the people planning on moving out already. He’s ridiculous, and he hasn’t even started yet.

President Donald Trump will be meeting with Mamdani on Friday, and we’ll bring you information on that. They’re supposed to talk about affordability. But if that’s a sample of Mamdani’s thinking, Trump is likely to make mincemeat out of him and serve him up a literal reality about how things will work. He’s going to be told in no uncertain terms that New York can’t roll over federal law enforcement on illegal immigration matters.
