Goodness gracious. I’ve mentioned before that the Democrats have lost it. That they are a rudderless ship with no leadership or foresight. I didn’t even realize just how accurate that statement has become. It starts at the very top of the party leadership, all the way down to the local level. In today’s episode of leftist hysteria, former President Barack Obama is supporting the notion that President Trump is building his own paramilitary force. You read that right. 

In a post on X, former President Obama reposted a New York Times podcast transcript of “The Ezra Klein Show” titled: “Trump is Building His Own Paramilitary Force.” In the supportive post, Obama states: 

This interview, which is also available to listen to as a podcast, provides a useful overview of some of the dangerous trends we’ve been seeing in recent months regarding federalization and militarization of state and local police functions. The erosion of basic principles like due process and the expanding use of our military on domestic soil puts the liberties of all Americans at risk, and should concern democrats and republicans alike.

The article itself suggests that the simple actions President Trump has taken to secure our southern border and streets is really Trump preparing for a mass military takeover. 

“…I see the evisceration of due process. I see detention centers being built where it is extraordinarily hard for lawyers and families to reach the people inside. I see men in masks refusing to identify themselves and pulling people into vans. I see armed U.S. troops in camo, some on horseback, riding through MacArthur Park in Los Angeles like they’re an occupying army. I see Trump sending in armed forces to take over the American capital.”

It’s always the hysteria with the left. The lawfare we saw against President Trump, raiding his home and dragging him to court, was OK, but making D.C. safe again? That’s where they draw an insane line. A repeat offender with over 30 felony counts? No issues there. But ICE agents protecting themselves and their families is a bridge too far? “I see Trump sending in armed forces to take over the American capital.” What? Oddly, you know who is grateful for the “takeover?” Democrat D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser. In a press conference yesterday, she all but thanked President Trump directly for cleaning up the city, stating: 

“The difference between this 20-day period of this federal surge and last year represents a 87% reduction in carjackings. Neighborhoods feel safer and are safer.”
