ONE person is dead more than a dozen are injured after thousands of rockets were fired into Israel by Hamas militants.
Military forces have now declared a “state of war” after the horror unfolded this morning.



Footage on social media shows cars and buildings up in flames, with large plumes of smoke seen from miles away.
Air raid sirens could be heard across southern and central Israel, while explosions had hit the cities of Tel Aviv, Ashkelon, Yavne and Kfar Aviv.
Photos of the aftermath showed the charred remains of cars littering the streets.
Sky News reported one person had been killed in the attack, while an OAP was fighting for her life.

A 20-year-old man was also injured after being hit by rocket shrapnel, and was said to have been one of at least 15 hurt.
Israel ordered locals to stay near bomb shelters within their homes as it said: “The military declares a state of war alert.”
The Israeli military said “a number of terrorists have infiltrated into Israeli territory”, and that it was striking targets in the Gaza Strip.
It declared: “The Hamas terror group will pay a very heavy price.”
Mohammad Deif, Hamas military commander, said on Hamas radio that 5,000 rockets had been launched.
He said: “This is the day of the greatest battle to end the last occupation on earth.”
