SENATORS have sparked outrage online for referring to Kamala Harris as “Madam President” during the Electoral College count.

Members of the US Senate convened on the House floor to formally cement President-elect Donald Trump‘s Election Day victory.

But as the count began, X users erupted in a frenzy when the four tellers tasked with confirming each state’s electoral certificates addressed Harris as “madam president.”

One by one, the tellers, Wisconsin Republican Senator Bryan Steil, New York Republican Joe Morelle, Nebraska Republican Deb Fischer, and Minnesota Democrat Amy Klobuchar, referred to Harris the same way.

“Why are they addressing Harris as, Madam President? Last I heard she was still just the useless VP!” one person blasted on X.

A second asked, “Why are they referring to Kamala as ‘Madam President’? Has there been a transfer of power?”

“What is this Madam President BS???” another seethed.
