Disturbing bodycam footage has captured the bloodstained aftermath of Perez Hilton’s knife livestream, which ended with the celebrity blogger being hospitalized.
The incident unfolded in Miami on August 4, when Hilton began broadcasting live on TikTok and appeared to harm himself during the stream.
The livestream remained online for roughly 15 minutes before TikTok ended it. Hilton’s account has since been banned from the platform.
His sister, Barbara Lavandeira, found him in the bathroom of their home, covered in blood and holding a box cutter.
Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched after concerned viewers and TikTok’s own moderation team made multiple calls. Newly obtained bodycam footage shows the chaotic moments after emergency responders arrived.
The footage obtained by The Daily Mail, much of which has been redacted, opens with emergency workers bringing a stretcher toward Hilton’s home while he remains inside.

First responders entered the property to treat Hilton as a worried onlooker watched from nearby.
Hilton, 48, has been blurred in the footage as EMTs carry him outside. One responder can be heard saying, “Watch his arms,” before he is placed on the stretcher.
Although Hilton himself is not visible, blood can be seen on the walls inside the apartment.
A police report obtained by The Daily Mail states that Hilton had been “suicidal” the previous week, prompting his sister to take him to hospital “to get help.”
According to the report, Hilton was “unusually quiet” on the day of the livestream. His sister went to check on him after discovering that he had locked himself in the bathroom.
When Hilton refused to come out, Lavandeira unlocked the door and found him “naked and covered in blood.”
The report says Lavandeira then left the home with her child and Hilton’s children.
It states that Hilton later came outside “naked and bloody” and began “banging on the vehicle’s driver window.” He returned inside and locked the front door after police arrived.
The 911 recording of Lavandeira’s call confirms that Hilton’s three young children were with her when she found him.
She said: “My brother is having a meltdown. He had an issue last week; he was suicidal.
“He is all cut up and covered in blood. He’s awake in the bathroom.”

Lavandeira said she had “stepped out of the house because I had his kids with me” and was making the 911 call from her car. She also said she believed Hilton had a “box cutter or a knife.”

The incident came several months after Hilton moved from Las Vegas back to his hometown of Miami. At the time of the livestream, he was living there with his three young children and his mother.
Hilton was treated for lacerations and an overdose before being taken to hospital under Florida’s Baker Act. The law permits the temporary, involuntary detention of people experiencing a mental health crisis.
His family said he had suffered significant blood loss and multiple broken bones.
“Perez is alive, he’s getting help, and he’s surrounded by people who want to see him healthy and happy again,” the family said in a statement.
“Right now, those are the things that matter most.”
He remained in hospital for more than a month while receiving psychiatric care.
In September, Hilton moved to a residential treatment facility, where he was expected to remain for “several more weeks” or longer.
Hilton, whose legal name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., does not have access to a phone or laptop.
His contact with friends and relatives has been limited as he focuses on his recovery.
Hilton’s three children—Mario, 13, Mia, 11, and Mayte, eight—are living in Miami, Florida, under the temporary custody of his mother, Teresita Lavandeira.
“His three children remain together, safe, and doing well in the care of their grandmother, who has stepped in to care for them full-time during this unexpected chapter,” his relatives said.

“Our family’s priority continues to be giving them as much stability, routine, and ‘normalcy’ as possible while their dad focuses on his recovery. We are incredibly grateful for everything their grandmother is doing for them.”
The internet personality can see his children, but the visits must be supervised by an approved family member or therapist, TMZ reported, citing court documents.
According to the outlet, Hilton must receive “psychiatric clearance” before those visits take place.
On Tuesday, Hilton’s family and team issued an update on his recovery. PerezHilton.com published a statement saying that the gossip blogger’s treatment had entered its “next phase” in a cautiously hopeful update.
The post also featured a heartwarming photo of Hilton’s three children trick-or-treating while their father remained in treatment.
“It’s been three months since our family began navigating this difficult time. While it hasn’t been easy, we’re grateful to have some positive news to share about Perez’s recovery,” the statement began.
Hilton’s family and team said he had “transitioned into the next phase of his treatment” in October.
