A PLANE passenger cruelly drowned her dog to avoid missing her flight after the pet pooch wasn’t allowed to board the plane.

Alison Agatha Lawrence, 57, drowned the poodle in the toilet in the Florida airport bathroom, before throwing it in the trash.

CCTV footage shows Lawrence pulling a suitcase alongside her white poodle inside Orlando International Airport back in December.

But her pooch was unable to board the plane as the dog did not have the correct paperwork.

Rather than calling friends or family to pick up the dog, Lawrence decided to kill the animal and dump its body in the trash.

The deceased pet was found in the trash by a janitor.

The airport alerted Orlando Police to the shocking event and a warrant was issued for Lawrence’s arrest.

Lawrence has now been arrested and charged with aggravated animal cruelty.

The 57-year-old was booked into jail, but hours later posted a $5,000 bond, according to court records.

Lawrence’s neighbors recalled her having a white poodle that she used to walk around the neighborhood often.

But they said they hadn’t seen her or the dog recently and were shocked to hear their neighbor would be accused of such a thing.

One neighbor said: “Someone that would do such things has got to be disturbed upstairs.”

A woman who claimed to be Lawrence’s sister told WFTV that she did not know where her sibling was and that she did not have a phone.

She added that she did not know about allegations against Lawrence.

Small pets are able to travel in the cabin of the plane with their owners and can be screened through security, according to TSA.

Animals must be in carriers and are swabbed for explosives.

Most US airlines require health certificates, a pet carrier for animals, and an airline reservation.

A dog was found dumped in a bin bag behind a Tesco supermarket in Birmingham in January.

The bull breed, possibly an XL Bully, was unable to stand because of breaks to his neck, back, legs and ribs, was covered in mange and was severely underweight.

The neglected dog was rushed to Birmingham Animal Hospital – but sadly died while on the treatment table.

The find came after another Bully was found tied up and burned to death in a London alley.
