Shonna Graham 31 from Falkirk who is still married to transgender rapist Isla Bryson

There was almost universal outrage over the trans double rapist ‘Isla Bryson’ — formerly Adam Graham — being sent to a Scottish woman’s prison.

Yes, this individual claims to have begun hormone replacement therapy as part of his ‘transition’ to living as a woman — but only after being arrested. He — I will not be calling him ‘she’ out of respect to his victims — remains in full possession of male genitalia.

Bryson’s estranged wife Shonna said her violent, controlling husband’s transitioning was ‘bullsh****g the authorities’ to avoid a men’s prison. ‘Never once did he say anything to me about feeling he was in the wrong body,’ she said. ‘Will one of the vulnerable women inmates be the next victim attacked by him? He won’t stop — it’s in his nature.’

It was only after a fierce public backlash that Nicola Sturgeon — who had championed a Bill to make it easier for people to ‘self-ID’ as the opposite sex — capitulated and said the rapist would not be serving his sentence in a women’s prison after all.

Yet the debate about trans people and women’s spaces rages on.

Time and again in recent years, young people — many of them, bizarrely, women — have argued with me that any man has the right, under almost any circumstances, to self-identify as a woman. They call me ‘cis’ — or worse, a ‘Terf’, the slur always hurled at those of us who stand up for women.

It makes my blood boil. It was feminists like me who fought sexist dinosaurs for decades, and in so many areas. Young women today can barely imagine how hard-won was the path we carved for them. They can now have fulfilling careers and do anything they want in a man’s world.

How often do you hear young women campaigning for justice for the 600,000 women sexually assaulted or raped a year? Or the shameful way that only 1.6 per cent of rapes reported lead to suspects even being charged, let alone convicted?

No, Millennials and Gen Z are more interested in puffing up their ‘inclusive’ credentials by cancelling their elders than speaking out for women.

I have every sympathy for anyone who believes they were born in the wrong body and wishes to transition.

But vocal youngsters have lost sight of what being a biological female really entails — and thus are slowly erasing what it means to be a woman.

 Get over him, Alice

Those who deserve most sympathy in the bitter divorce between Ioan Gruffudd and Alice Evans? Their two young daughters.

Alice now faces arrest after failing to turn up to a LA court to answer two charges of violating her restraining order.

Yes it’s beyond heart-breaking when a husband leaves for someone else.

But for the sake of her children, Alice simply has to get a grip and get over him.

Toru Ueda, 32, who spent £19,000 on an ultra-realistic wolf outfit, says it’s a dream come true to live as his lupine alter ego. ‘I’m now free of all human relationships.’ You don’t say!

Please buy Penny a fan, Rod

Penny Lancaster, aka Mrs Rod Stewart, is upset the Government has ditched the idea of ‘menopause passports’ giving women time off work. Others think the last thing we working middle-aged women need is to be marginalised thanks to others’ special pleading.

A ‘deflated’ Penny claims ‘three in four women suffer symptoms’ such as hot flushes. Can’t someone just pass the woman a fan?

Meanwhile, is Rod having his own late-life crisis, after calling Sky to say he’s no longer a Tory and the reins of power should be handed to Labour? Offering to pay for 20 diagnostic scans on the NHS sounds generous — but I prefer George Michael’s approach. After his death, we learned he had regularly called TV shows and offered to help out those in crisis, including paying for one woman’s entire IVF treatment, on just one condition — he remained anonymous.

Despite overseeing England crashing out of the World Cup in the quarter-finals — again — manager Gareth Southgate admits he did consider resigning, but felt the team still had a long way to go under his leadership. Nothing of course to do with his £5 million-a-year pay deal, up for renewal next year . . . or not.

My moggie Ted was as confused as I was to learn of new research that can tell whether two cats are playing with one another — or about to start a catfight. Ted’s taught me that it’s not complicated. Soft-paw equals playful, claws out means stay away. And I have the scars to prove it.

It’s a big no from me

Britain’s Got Talent’s Amanda Holden and Alesha Dixon threatened to walk out after learning new judge Bruno Tonioli was earning the same as them — £850,000 — despite the long spells in which they’ve anchored the show.

Amanda has been there for 17 years and Alesha ten. And the result of all ITV’s money? Some 2.5 million viewers have switched off.

Matt Lucas and David Walliams are creating a follow-up to their comedy Little Britain, although some of their famous characters will have to go. Extravagant Desiree (Walliams in blackface) is rightly being retired, as is truculent wheelchair-user Andy, ‘the only gay in the village’ Daffyd and ‘Thai bride’ Ting Tong. Surely Vicky ‘yeah but, no but’ Pollard is safe — as Love Island proves. Minus a few stone, Vicky would fit in perfectly at the villa.

Lingerie brand Victoria’s Secret has ditched its drab comfy lockdown bras for a sexy pink range ready for Valentine’s Day, aimed at ladies of all sizes and ages. Crikey, if any normal middle-aged woman wore any of it, her bloke would either die of fright — or die laughing.

Westminster Wars

Entering the Celebrity jungle for his £320,000 fee while taking his £84,000 MP salary, Matt Hancock vowed he’d pay a substantial sum to charity. This turns out to be £10,000. Guessing that having dumped his wife and kids, the rest is to pay his alimony bills.

Bizarre that over-stuffed haggis Nicola Sturgeon thinks it’s a good idea for the legal age for drinking alcohol to be lowered in Scotland to 16. Her country already has almost double the death rate from booze than anywhere else in the UK.

It’s inconceivable that the body of Laura Winham, 38, could have been found in her flat almost four years after she died.

Suffering from schizophrenia and sectioned twice, Laura was ignored by social services and estranged from her family, who now want answers. But how could her nearest and dearest have failed to ask the authorities why they had not been updated on her health and progress for so long?

Workshy Princess Eugenie, tenth in line to the throne, says she’s teaching her son August, two, to be a climate-change activist.

Good luck with that Mum, as children often do the opposite of what their parents shove down their throats. Let’s hope he ends up as a petrolhead F1 driver.

Even as Eugenie’s disgraced dad Andrew is being banished from his Buck House suite, friends say he vows to overturn the multi-million-pound settlement he struck with Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexual abuse.

holding my own verdict until she publishes her tell-all memoir, having signed the deal this week.

Just when Andy begins his lonely fight back into public life, up pops Ghislaine Maxwell from her prison cell — serving 20 years for procuring girls for the paedophile Jeffrey Epstein — and declaring in her first televised interview that the Prince is her ‘dear friend’. As Andy might ask: Who needs enemies?
