Alexander Skobov, a long-time Putin critic who has been described as his worst enemy since his KGB days, said he “stinks of corpses”.

The freedom campaigner was reportedly arrested and jailed on trumped-up charges of being a member of a terrorist organisation and justifying terrorism.

Courtroom footage shows the brave man, 67, blasting Putin in front in an electrifying speech.

He denounced the dictator over his war and repressions and pleaded with the West not to cede territory to him.

Standing inside a glass cage, Skobov said: “I accuse the ruling Putin clique, stinking of corpses, of preparing, unleashing and waging an aggressive war.

“Of war crimes in Ukraine. Of political terror in Russia. Of corrupting my people.

“Death to the Russian fascist invaders. Death to Putin, the new Hitler, a murderer and a scoundrel.”

He also pleaded Russians to use armed struggle in order to defeat Putin.

Skobov was convinced of “the Nazi nature of Putin’s regime, peaceful coexistence with which is impossible in principle”.

He warned the West: “We are witnessing a disgusting attempt at a purely imperialist conspiracy between two predators.

“If Putin’s annexations [in Ukraine] are legalised, it will be a catastrophe for civilisation.

“Europe, you have been betrayed, wake up and go fight for your world.”

The defiant campaigner gave a stark warning to the world about a potential alliance between Mad Vlad and Trump.

Skobov had previously been persecuted during the Soviet era pre-1991, and he had been personally repressed by then KGB agent Putin.

He was jailed on trumped-up charges of being a member of a terrorist organisation and justifying terrorism.

He was also thrown into psychiatric hospitals twice – a common punishment for political dissidents.

His cases were handled by KGB agent Vladimir Putin, among others.

But this sentence means he may never see freedom again since he suffers from multiple illnesses.

The brave speaker taunted the judge: “I ask the servants of Putin’s regime present here [the judge and other officials], who are small cogs in his repressive machine.

“Do you admit yourselves guilty of complicity in Putin’s crimes?

“Do you repent of your complicity?

The fighter and Free Russia Forum member said in his last words to court: “We advocate the unconditional return to Ukraine of all its internationally recognised territories occupied by Russia, including Crimea, yes, Crimea is Ukraine.

“Second, we support everyone who fights to achieve these goals, including citizens of the Russian Federation who voluntarily joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

“Third, we recognise any form of war against Putin’s tyranny inside Russia, including armed struggle.”

Russian Judge Alexander Khludnev asked Skobov if he understood the verdict.

Skobov replied: “Glory to Ukraine. Glory to the Heroes.”

The judge said: “Let’s assume that it is understood.”

He will now serve 16 years behind bars which is potentially a death sentence.
