POLICE have named a person of interest in the Maine mass shooting that has reportedly claimed the lives of at least 22 people.

Robert Card, 40, is wanted for questioning after Wednesday night’s attack that has also left at least 60 people injured.

Lewiston police said just before 11 pm local time that Card “should be considered armed and dangerous.”

He was pictured on surveillance footage bearing a long rifle and wearing a brown sweatshirt and jeans.

Card was unmasked as he allegedly entered multiple locations and began shooting.

Lewiston Police believed Card to be traveling in a 2013 white Subaru Outback and shared a photo on social media urging residents to be alert.

Initial reports indicate that Card, a Maine resident, may have been an Army veteran.

Several reports have also stated that Card may have had mental health challenges.

Police have confirmed that there are multiple scenes involved, including Sparetime Recreation bowling alley and Schemengees bar/lounge.

Several reports have indicated that a Walmart distribution center was a possible third scene involved.

Maine State Police have issued a shelter-in-place for the towns of Lewiston and Auburn.

Residents have been urged to stay inside and lock their doors.

Lewiston is the second largest city in Maine.

Schools in Lewiston will be closed on Thursday.
