A DEMOCRATIC congressman faces the wrath of online trolls after he made a cringeworthy outburst about Elon Musk on the House floor.
Representative Robert Garcia, 47, made an awkward reference to Kendrick Lamar’s Not Like Us during the first house subcommittee hearing for Musk’s new Department of Government Efficiency.
The hearing, chaired by Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene, was called to address concerns about DOGE in Washington DC on Wednesday.
Garcia, a Democrat representing California’s 42nd district, slammed Musk over his government efforts in what seemed to be an attempt at going viral on social media.
“Elon Musk is sending his unqualified DOGE staff to carry out this agenda across all these agencies,” Garcia ranted during the hearing.
“And in some cases, actually teenage staffers. No accountability, no experience, and problematic records.
“They’re trying to rob you, and they’re probably a minor,” he said, holding the last word out to mimic Lamar in his hit song, which the rapper just performed at the Super Bowl on Sunday.
Social media users were quick to bash Garcia’s out-of-place reference.
“All of that so he could say his little line and try to be clever. Ridiculous,” one X user slammed in response to the clip of Garcia.
“Get your work done and stop playing around.”
Another ripped, “This guy is a joke and just wasted time and grandstanding.
“Everyone should be onboard to decrease gov. spending. Do your job!”
