Democrats have often been criticized for employing dramatic tactics during Congressional hearings, a pattern observed during both President Trump’s initial term and President Joe Biden’s presidency.

This trend has persisted into Trump’s second term, as demonstrated on Tuesday during the Senate Judiciary’s Department of Homeland Security Oversight Hearing. At this session, DHS Secretary Kristi Noem was scheduled to testify about her department’s activities over the past year, the challenges they have encountered, and her leadership during the Democrat-led government shutdown that has affected the DHS.

In his opening remarks, Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA) stated, “From my perspective, I believe immigration enforcement and dignity aren’t mutually exclusive. Secretary Noem, I look forward to hearing how you’re addressing these important issues while continuing the department’s mission.”
