Known for his anti-ICE activism, Pretti actively sought confrontation, following the example set by MN Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan, who urged activists to put their bodies on the line.

MUST WATCH: Footage of an a man who looks like Alex Pretti with a gun in his waistband, spitting on and attacking federal law enforcement officers and kicking the tail light of their vehicle on January 13.

This appears similar to the incident covered by my colleague Rusty Weiss, which Pretti had a week before he was killed. 

Alex Pretti reportedly suffered a broken rib about a week before his fatal shooting when federal agents tackled him after he tried to intervene in an immigration enforcement operation. 

Sources tell CNN that Pretti stopped his car after spotting ICE agents chasing “a family on foot,” and began shouting and blowing a whistle to intervene. They say this action prompted several agents to take him down.

Pretti allegedly told one source that “five agents tackled him and one leaned on his back – an encounter that left him with a broken rib.”

If this video is verified as accurate, and more information comes forth, then it further cements the veracity of recent reporting that Alex Pretti was no peaceful protestor or innocent bystander. Pretti was an anti-ICE activist who sought confrontation and did what MN Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan encouraged: he put his body on the line.
