During a recent segment on Fox News Channel’s “Ingraham Angle,” Border Czar Tom Homan provided some insight into the current state of border enforcement. He revealed that approximately 60% of those apprehended are identified as criminals, while the remaining 40% are not. Homan expressed a sense of approval regarding these statistics, noting, “I think that’s a good percentage.”

Homan elaborated on this point during the broadcast, which took place around the 4:20 mark. He explained, “While President Trump focuses on public safety and national security threats, we inevitably end up arresting some non-criminals. Currently, about 60% of those we arrest have criminal records, and I believe that’s a favorable ratio compared to having a higher percentage of non-criminals. But we remain open to all possibilities.”

Further into the discussion, Homan addressed New York’s Governor Kathy Hochul, emphasizing the broader implications of their enforcement strategy. “When we are compelled to locate and apprehend criminals within communities, often, these individuals are not alone,” he stated. “They may be accompanied by others who are in the country illegally but are not direct targets or perceived threats. Even if they’ve resided here for decades, they too will be detained, as we cannot disregard our duty to enforce the laws set by Congress.”
