DONALD Trump’s former advisor will plead guilty to fraud charges connected to shady fundraising for a southern US border wall, according to new legal reports.

Steve Bannon reportedly plans to take a deal with New York state prosecutors, which will allow him to skip out on prison time.

Bannon, a conservative political strategist, is set to stand trial in New York state court starting on March 4.

“It is anticipated that Mr. Bannon will plead guilty tomorrow under an agreement with the district attorney and the court that he will not receive a sentence that includes any jail time,” Bannon’s defense attorney, John F. Carman, said, according to Law360.

He first pleaded not guilty in September 2022 after he was indicted on a slew of charges including state money laundering, conspiracy, and fraud.

Bannon, 71, is accused of making false promises to donors that their fundraiser money for the We Build the Wall campaign would go to building a wall on the US-Mexico border.

The campaign raised more than $20 million after it was launched in 2018.

The program built a few miles of fencing along the southern border but had to stop after a federal investigation ensued.

Prosecutors allege Bannon used the money for unrelated spending.

Carman didn’t respond to The U.S. Sun’s request for comment.

Bannon’s newfound guilty plea comes after he spent four months in prison last year for an unrelated case.

He served time in Connecticut for refusing a subpoena into Congress’ investigation of the US Capitol attack on January 6, 2021.

He was released from prison in October and resumed his podcast just hours later.
