A sunseeker holding his baby has been spotted standing dangerously close to a cliff edge while taking a selfie, as Britons pack out beaches and parks as temperatures soared this Bank Holiday weekend.
Parks and beaches were packed out with thousands of people as temperatures climbed to 20C (68F) kicking off a week of weather that could see the UK hotter than Ibiza.
Those across the country lapped up the rays and baked in the Bank Holiday sunshine again today after Plymouth hit 24.4C yesterday, marking the hottest day of the year so far.
Families are flocking to beaches along the south coast, many taking taking a dip in the sea or going for a paddle.
City-dwellers were seen laying out on picnic blankets in parks as they enjoyed the warm temperatures.
The sunny, dry summer-like weather is welcome contrast to chilly, damp conditions and weeks of torrential rain and flooding that have dominated this spring.
The Met Office predicts the warm temperatures and bright weather will continue this week with the mercury expected to soar to 26C.

Wales and south-west England will be warmest today with temperatures expected to hit highs of 20C.
Much of the UK will be dry, with plenty of sunshine. There will be some clouds and patchy rain, however this is expected to linger across the far north of Scotland.
Met Office meteorologist Jonathan Vautrey said: ‘Generally, there will be a lot of dry weather around and a good amount of sunshine still.
‘Hazy cloud pushing through at times might make the sunshine hazy in places. Temperatures then going to be feeling cooler along eastern coastal areas.’

Most areas will remain dry with clear skies overnight, although the far north and eastern England are likely to see some cloud coverage. It could be chilly, with a touch of frost in some areas.
Tomorrow will remain cloudy in the far north and across parts of eastern England. The rest of the UK will see a dry Tuesday with plenty of sunshine. It will remain warm in the west, but cool where cloud persists.
The spell of nice weather will continue throughout the rest of the week, with highest temperatures expected in the west. The eastern areas will maintain the cool breeze off the North Sea.

Parts of Britain could experience a mini scorcher in the coming weeks as weather charts show continued heat and daily high, especially in the south of England, regularly reaching 20C or hotter.
It comes as the UK recorded its hottest day of 2023 yesterday. The previous warmest day of the year was last Sunday, May 21, when 23.3C (73.9F) was recorded at Porthmadog, North Wales.
But the sunshine has created tinder-dry conditions in rural areas, with a seventh fire this year breaking out on an area of Pennine moorland which is an important wildlife habitat. Firefighters were still on Marsden Moor yesterday after a fire which started last Monday and engulfed almost a square mile of countryside.
Adrian Bairstow, of West Yorkshire Fire Service, said: ‘The fire spread so quickly because the dry grass burns easily. With this warm weather we know there is no rain coming.
‘This is the seventh fire on Marsden Moor so far this year and we do our best each time to protect this Site of Special Scientific Interest, famous for its rare ground-nesting birds.’

However, the early summer sunshine has also brought tragedy as six young men have drowned in the space of four days across the country.
Two men in their 20s drowned after going for a swim in shorts rather than wet suits from a beach at Oddicombe in Torbay, Devon, at around 9am on Saturday.
Police and paramedics joined a coastguard rescue team and the RNLI’s inshore lifeboat to pull the men from the water.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: ‘One of the men was declared deceased at the scene and another man died after being taken to Torbay Hospital.’
