A TEACHER has died and several others have been injured in a knife attack at a French high school.
The suspect shouted “Allah Akhbar” during the attack at Arras high school Gambetta, according to BFMTV.
France’s Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin wrote on X, formerly Twitter, on Friday morning: “A police operation took place at the Gambetta high school in Arras.
“The perpetrator was arrested by the police.”
Local police confirmed there had been a knife attack and regional authorities confirmed the attacker was arrested.

Two teachers and a technical agent were among the injured, according to Le Parisien, with one injured and one in a state of “absolute emergency”.
A high school student told Le Parisien the incident started about 11am Friday morning.
He said he received a video of the suspect entering the establishment while he was in a meeting room, describing the situation as “extremely confused”.
The high school students remain confined at the school.
