The government shutdown, commonly referred to as the Schumer Shutdown, has persisted for over a month now.
Since its onset on October 1, the Senate remains unable to conduct another vote on the matter until at least Tuesday.
This prolonged shutdown is sparking significant worries, especially concerning the funding of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) and its potential effects on air travel.
During a Sunday segment on Fox News Channel, host Maria Bartiromo questioned Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) about the possibility of the government reopening this week, highlighting the shutdown’s serious repercussions on the U.S. economy. Cruz offered an insightful prediction regarding the shutdown’s conclusion and the reasons behind it.
“I anticipate that it will likely reopen by Wednesday or Thursday of this week,” Cruz remarked.
This is exactly what @SenSchumer and @RepJeffries want — to inflict maximum pain on the American people!

Fox News Channel’s Maria Bartiromo asked Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) on Sunday if he thought the government would open this week, as the shutdown was “seriously impacting the U.S. economy.” Cruz had an intelligent take on when it might be over, and why.
🚨 BREAKING: In an infuriating development, Sen. Ted Cruz just learned Democrats are plotting to reopen the government AFTER this Tuesday’s election because they wanted to juice Democrat voter turnout.

The Democrats will wait until after Election Day because they think a shutdown is good for energizing the crazies in their party. But I think it will either be late this week or early next week.”
That sounds like a pretty intelligent assessment to me. The whole point of this exercise seems to have been to juice the leftist base, to try to appeal to them that somehow the Democrats were “fighting” for them. If they get people out and they can walk away with wins, even if they were in areas where they were already leading, they can say, “Hey, look, guys, we beat them,” and convince the left they’ve done something. It gives them something of an off-ramp to argue.
They likely think this can help them in Virginia, where there are a lot of federal workers, and then they can all come out to vote. Maybe. But the federal workers and others in Virginia might also realize it’s the Democrats who have been behind the shutdown. We saw Republicans had actually gained in approval since the shutdown started. We saw that the largest federal employee union, the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE), has called for everyone to vote for the clean CR and open the government.
