He was her perfect match – in more ways than one.
In 2001, Nicole Munda was told she needed a liver transplant or she was unlikely to see out her 30s.
Nicole’s donor would need to be the same rare blood type, and from a same-sized person, making it a difficult feat.
But in an incredible turn of events, a random stranger went on to save her life – as well as turn out to be the love of it.
While dealing with the devastating health blow, the then 29-year-old decided to go to a NASCAR meet to take her mind off her condition.
She made the four-and-a-half hour drive from her Las Vegas home to the Phoenix International Raceway, looking forward to spending the day with her friends, as per an excerpt from Godwinks on Love, published by Fox News.
After following her pals to their seats, Nicole sat down next to a man in a cowboy hat and started chatting – only to discover a slew of incredible coincidences.
The man, Jess Coleman, was from Nicole’s hometown of Carlin, Nevada – but the coincidences didn’t stop there.

After talking with Nicole for awhile, Jess made the connection – he knew Nicole’s mom, and had even carpooled with her.
Jess had one final serendipitous revelation to share: he even had a picture of Nicole in his room.
Much to Nicole’s disbelief, they had been on the same white-water rafting trip a couple of years prior, and Jess still had a photo from the outing.
‘I always wondered who that good-looking girl was!’ he cheekily quipped, as per the publication.
The pair exchanged phone numbers, and Jess wasted no time in calling Nicole as soon as he could.
According to Nicole, she was ‘touched by Jess’s kindness,’ and for the next few weeks, they talked on the phone every day.
The pair’s relationship moved quickly, with Jess proposing four months later, and a wedding planned for a mere three months after that.
However, Nicole’s liver disease was getting worse, with no family members a match.

Tragically, just a few days prior to the big day, doctors delivered shocking news to Nicole that her liver may be cancerous – but it could only be confirmed was through surgery.
This meant they needed to have someone ready to donate 60 percent of their liver.
Jess begged doctors to test him and they finally did – although didn’t expect him to be a match.
‘The odds were many millions to one against his being a match,’ Nicole recalled in a Today article.
However, the doctors to test him, finding that miraculously he was.
They scheduled the surgery, swapping a honeymoon suite for a hospital one – but wouldn’t have it any other way.
The pair both checked into the Mayo Clinic and had dual surgeries, which were a success.
